In Proto, players become a high-energy, trigger-happy robot protecting the city of San Francisco from invading aliens seeking exorbitant amounts of sourdough bread to keep their spaceships running. The objective of the game is for Proto to exterminate as many creatures as possible as they storm through the streets, ransacking the city for sourdough bread. Players can fight their way through 11 levels using Proto's various attack moves, acquiring high scores by scouring high and low to rid the city of all alien invaders.
