Harvest Moon: A Wonderful Life was released in 2004 to widespread acclaim from critics and fans of the series. The living, breathing world of Forget-Me-Not Valley was as charming as it was detailed. Harvesting crops, tending livestock, and raising a family in the quaint, isolated village was a strangely addicting experience. Despite all the various things you could do on your farm, the crux of the game (raising a family) was, for the most part, pretty static, since it was always played from the perspective of a male character. Now, almost a year and a half later, Natsume and Marvelous are putting a feminine spin on life in the valley with the release of Harvest Moon: Another Wonderful Life. Aside from the fact that you play as a female character, life on the farm hasn't changed much, but Another Wonderful Life does bring to light a whole new side of the familiar characters from Forget-Me-Not Valley that fans of the series are sure to enjoy.

You can't really blame Konami for churning out Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles games on the frequent basis that it does. It's a highly visible license based on a highly popular Saturday morning cartoon series, and, despite the fact that each and every one of the games produced for this console generation has peaked at middling levels or bottomed out in the dregs of action gaming, these games continue to sell, and sell well. So, it is with little surprise that Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 3: Mutant Nightmare follows precisely the same formula that the last couple of games have. It picks up during the third season of the TV show, interspersing TV footage into the game between missions and effectively trying to play out like an interactive version of the show.

As a basketball game developer, 989 Sports has been riding the pine for a while. After the unmitigated disaster that was NBA Shootout 2004 on the PlayStation 2, 989 sent itself to the bench in order to regroup several of its sports franchises. NBA for the PSP represents the developer's roundball comeback. And while NBA is a definite improvement over 989's last hoops effort, there's still a great deal of improvement left to make. NBA offers a number of different play modes and minigames, as well as full Wi-Fi networking support for one-on-one action. Based on Luo Guanzhong's historical novel, Romance of the Three Kingdoms, the Dynasty Warriors series of Tactical Action games takes players back in time when chaos ruled Ancient China. In the game players are equipped with powerful weapons and their strategic wits. They must fight their way through grand battlefields populated with hordes of enemy warriors.
With previous console-based Dynasty Warriors games, the player was free to roam about one vast battlefield. One stage could take more than 30 minutes to complete. Stages this long would not be convenient for a mobile gaming environment. So in the PSP version of Dynasty Warriors, each stage is divided into a network of smaller "battlefield areas" (BA), with each area holding a different degree of strategic importance.

These areas influence each other and change according to the battle situation. If the player wins in one area, the victory may create a positive influence in other areas (i.e. increased morale). Or if an allied army retreats, this may decrease allied morale. As a result, the player must be aware of the status of each BA, decide an appropriate battle policy and lead his army to victory.

Spider-Man 2 consists of nearly 20 loosely interconnected levels, which touch on the main story points of the film. Spider-Man first has to confront several other villains before the token final battle with Dr. Octopus. While each level is really only a few minutes long, there's actually a good bit of variety from one to the next. You'll go from rescuing hostages from the clutches of the maniacal Mysterio and his weird museum, to tailing Doc Ock across the NYC skyline, preventing him from causing calamity on the unsuspecting populace far below. Along the way, you'll beat up tons of goons, and explore indoor and wide-open outdoor environments. Many levels involve a race against the clock, which makes the rather bite-sized missions feel all the more rushed. The game breaks up the more-standard levels with several fairly interesting showdowns against Spidey's nemeses, and all in all, the variety and brisk pacing is part of the reason you'll probably end up blowing through the experience in no time.

Sad as it is to report, Crazy Taxi just isn't very much fun anymore. Though they were once shining examples of over-the-top, wacky-as-heck arcade driving games, the original and its sequels have not been treated kindly by the years, a fact highlighted by Crazy Taxi: Fare Wars for the PSP. This release includes Dreamcast ports of both Crazy Taxi and its follow-up, Crazy Taxi 2, then tosses in a bit of ad-hoc multiplayer, and calls it a day. What it doesn't do is adjust the game in any way, shape, or form for modern times. The shallowness of the gameplay is likely to turn off anyone who isn't intensely nostalgic for all things Crazy Taxi. And even those folk will likely take umbrage with the sluggish gameplay and dodgy controls in this version.

Any card-carrying Sega fan already knows what to expect from these two games, but for the uninitiated, a brief synopsis. In both games, your goal is to take control of one of four different cabbies and drive around the city lickety-split, picking up customers and getting them to their desired location. That might not sound like much of a concept, but the thing that made the games so much fun back in the day was the jaunty, kooky nature of the gameplay, where driving like a maniac to fly over hills and narrowly avoid head-on collisions actually made your passengers happier and increased your score. Cars bounce off one another like they're made of rubber, and insane drifts take the place of proper steering. Likewise, big jumps litter every city block, and in Crazy Taxi 2, you can even use supercharged hydraulics to leap over any oncoming traffic. The game also imposed some rather stiff time limits for each passenger, lending to the immediacy and frantic pacing of it all.
